Where can I find £50,000?

The house lease comes up in April next year and we've started looking for houses. We've found this which is completely gorgeous but a little outside of our price range. Well £50,000 outside of our price range.

It is nice though isn't it. Here are the particulars.

ohhh wow you _have_ to find the extra money from somewhere...

I can but dream...

This would need three of us working, the extra money, and we'd have no flexibility. Things may change if we find another member of the "commune" before then.

We have found other victorian properties, not quite so pretty, but with good sized lounge and dining room, five or six bedrooms (including attic rooms) and a basement, garden and garage that are within our price range. The only other issue is that Molly may get a job in York in which case living in Frizinghall/Heaton (nr Bradford) it would be a little too far a commute for her. Possible but tiring.

That looks absolutely gorgeous! Sounds like you need to collar another (employed or monied) person :-)

When you say commune, do you mean a house you own together or a house you share? I was wondering whether setting up a housing co-op would be possible? Although you'd still end up renting rather than owning so perhaps not. But there are certain advantages too.

My word thats lovely... although I'm not sure about the aga being in the Dining Room, shouldn't that be below stairs with the kitchen staff?
