I've just had to spend the whole weekend without proper net access nor a TV in the front room.
We recently cobbled together a projection system in the front room and moved the TV up to our loft bed room. The system comprises an LCD colour flat panel and an overhead projector. It works quite well considering. Unfortunately both the main bulb and back-up bulb blew in quick succession putting it out of action. So the only TV is in the bedroom and we don't have satelite up there just digital terrestrial.
Then when my internet provider tried to take the last ADSL payment it bounced because I'd been issued with a new card and it's number had changed. They sent me letter explaining this and followed it with an invoice each month. Each time I would say, I really must sort that out and then promptly forgot about it. On Friday our service was suspended which meant no t'interweb for the weekend.
These two events effectively cut us off from the world. I couldn't play my current favourite PS2 game because of the lack of broadband. It was horible. I didn't know how much I depended upon my TV fix and the 'net. I kept passing my PC, starting to check my e-mail, and then remembering that the was no point. I display all the signs of addiction.
Once I'd got over it I had a pretty relaxing weekend. Doing gardening and housework, listening to Radio 4, playing vinyl and reading.
Last week I was made my boss' deputy. There's no more money nor a promotion involved but hopefully it bodes well for the future. I supose I'll have to go and get some gell to point my hair.

I always have a crappy FreeServe dial up account so if Demon ADSL is down I can at least check my email and read LJ!
