I feel much happier today. I've worked out that going for the dark make-up doesn't suit me. I'm not sure whether I picked the colours on Saturday because of how I felt or I felt how I felt because of the colours. Anyway I've gone for very light purples today. I had a new LJ piccie taken before I left to go shopping in Leeds and I don't think I look too bad.

Anyway the deep and meaningful question of the day is whether to fringe or not to fringe. As you can see my current hair is the same length all the way around. I do make an good impression of cousin It. The trip in to Leeds was for some dye to add colour streaks to my hair. It wasn't successful but I did return with a couple of books and three CDs (Black Sabbath, Nightwish and Ramstein). Anyway back to my hair. I'm not sure whether to cut in a fringe what do you think? Do I ...

A. Leave as is.
B. Go for it

Well actually it doesn't rock. That's precisely what it doesn't do. Eurovision for all those people who don't know is an annual contest where many many european countries put forward a band and a crap song to compete against all the other bands and crap songs which other countries have supplied. Eventually the least crap song played by the band bearing the most flesh from the most liked country wins. It's really camp!

This year Turkey won because it was a reasonable song, they belly danced and they haven't bombed anyone or said they were positively not bombing anyone. To score highly you have to have a song which most countries like which means that they all degrade to a euro friendly, bland, no-descript piece of music. There's always one 'wacky' number and this year it was the Austrians. It was completely bizarro and I hope the poor man gets medical help for his mental problems soon.

I wanted the Belgian entry to win. It was a good folk/dance number, performed by Urban Trad, which was sung in an imaginary language so that no one was miffed for it not being sung in their language.

The best thing was that the UK came last and scored nil point (For those who don't have the wonder that is Eurovision, the scores are read in French and English and nil point tipifies the competition). It surves us right for taking the piss out of Norway for the number of times they scored nil point. Anyway the song was completely rubbish. I thought they were singing out of key so I checked the video and it was the same on the video.

Next year it all happens again and this time there's a two stage competition so it all happens twice!
