My Uvula is Huge!

No it's not the start of a joke. I've had a shit night because my uvula (the dangly bit at the back of the throat - emtymology - middle english meaning swollen grape! Luckily I don't have those!) has swollen right up. I thought better of a photo!

It's really uncomfortable and occasionally triggering my gag reflex. It's also making talking a very very weird feeling and so I'm not. Some may say this is the up side. So I'm off for a doctor's appointment at 9.30 this morning. The surgery is luckily only five minutes away and on the way to work but right now I don't feel like going in but know I must due to all the work.

The saga of the swollen grape!

Well my trip to the GPs resulted in the diagnosis "Generic unknown infection, possibly viral, possibly bacterial. Here have some penicillin". My sinuses are hurting now as well. I suspect that's where the infection started because I was feeling a little sinusy yesterday at work. I was feeling crap on Monday and came home to sleep for hours. May be I've been brewing this one for a while.

Anyway I'm off to work to stuff loads of files on my laptop.

Back home

Well my quick visit to the office turned in to a five hour visit. How is it that some days you can sit and no one wants to speak to you and other days the whole world is after you. My todo list for the weekend has got longer. I'm here now so I'm going to have a very late lunch and a nice cuppa. Then I need to sort out what I need for the weekend.

Finally (thanks to mister_ed) it appears I'm rather screwed up!
